Care

Put it on after perfume and hand cream, never before. Wipe the pearl with a soft damp cloth only, and keep it away from polish.

A single white freshwater pearl, seven millimetres, set on a gold post and nothing else. Pearls are the one gem grown rather than mined: layer upon layer of nacre laid down inside a living shell over years, which is why the light seems to come from inside them rather than off the surface.
